I have a question, will it damage my health running on the sidewalks of a road that usualy have decent amount of cars driving on it? are bricks okay for running or damaging to the feet??

Re: Running on the sidewalks
Tue, December 11, 2007 - 3:17 PMIt's whatever you get used to. If you are used to running on treadmills or soft surface tracks allow yourself some "break in" period on the sidewalk and road scene. you might want to get different shoes with more cushion too. I've never had a problem with either surface. The only thing I have to watch out for is uneven pavement, garbage cans, etc.

Wed, December 12, 2007 - 10:58 PMThe more solid the surface, the worse off for your feet. Or, the softer the better. (You can pick which way you want to look at it.)
Runners' tracks are a lot softer than regular ground, so they have no problems running for longer distances/time.
If it's not hardcore running, then go ahead. It shouldn't damage your joints unless you're very obese or have joint problems anyway.

Fri, January 25, 2008 - 5:15 PMEspecially in the winter, the sidewalks feel very hard. You could hurt your joints. Some of my friends don't like running because they don't want to feel pain in their knees. If you can run on an indoor track or on a treadmill, that would be better. -
