topic posted Mon, October 1, 2007 - 2:34 PM by  Pam
Indoors i have
3 pairs of dumb-bells 3 different weights
a medicine ball
a long exercise bar (not sure of its proper name)
a few core stability balls
various resistance bands (various strengths)
a skipping rope (not a kids one a proper exercise one)
wobble board

I know i should use them more but any idea of what exercises i can do, or links to good sites to give me good strength, without bulking up

I have some of that stuff too, plus a really nice treadmill that gets used when our oldest daughter brings her puppy over.....(it's a cute dog walker)

For some reason I just prefer working at a gym.........

      Pam,

You definately won't "bulk" up when doing resistance training and stability training at home. Check out some magazine websites like Shape.come and FitnessMagazine.com (?) for some great at home workouts. Also, you can try googling your equipment (eg. stability ball exercises), you'll be amazed at what you find. Also try going to the library or local Barnes and Nobel or Chapters, where you'll find tons of great books with exercises. You can photocopy some of them or write them down so that you don't forget them.\

Another thing you can try, if you can afford it, is to find a good personal trainer that will put together an at home routine for you. You can see them every 6 weeks or so for a new routine. Once you've done this 5 or 6 times you'll probably have a wealth of exercises to choose from and wont need them anymore.

I love working out at home! Good luck and have fun!
